BBQ Themed Christmas Party

Good day all.
I knew this would be the best place to come for ideas and feedback so here's my question.
I host a Christmas party every year, it's BBQ themed so I do lots grilled appetizer. Crowd keeps getting bigger every year. This year up to about 40 people.
I seem to be doing the same items over again year after year. Some favourites I have to keep such as planked bries and grilled chicken and pulled pork quesadillas.
Just fishing for some ideas and suggestions that would shake up my menu this year. Preferably some things I could prep ahead of time and grill up at party time.
Thanks guys....always appreciate your feedback

Hodag Cookies, recipe in forum cookbook, click on appetizers and go to Hodag Cookies. Make the sausage spread ahead of time then assemble and grill for the party. Slice into quarters when done-great finger food.
Merry Christmas.

if you want to add a main dish, lechon asado is a tradional christmas meal down in the islands, dont let the garlic scare you, infact use more
if you can find blood oranges sub those into the sauce. this recipe makes a pull, not a roast , but its really good

ABT = Atomic Buffalo Turd
Jalapeño, stuffed with pulled pork ( or another meat of your choice), cream cheese and/or shredded cheeses. Wrap the whole thing in bacon and smoke or grill indirect until the bacon is cooked. Do a search for hundreds of variations.

Here is what we are planning for appetizers. BBRibs split in half. We have an Asian food market here in Arizona that sells BBribs split down the middle to make smaller bite sized appetizers................

Mike,
How about holiday themed fatties? Maybe one with a ham an sweet potato filling and a maple-glazed finish? Or a thangsgiving reminder with leftover turkey, stuffing and cranberry filling?

A variety of fatties sounds easy, delicious and fun.
Smoked Salmon? trout? Lox? Steamers(clams), mussels, oysters?
oysters sure go good with vodka martinis. -
My appetizers will be Shrimp Scampi and ABTs.

Aggie,
What Brewand said. Atomic Buffalo Turds. They go really fast when I take them to a party. The standard one is little sausages and cream cheese, but I've made them with shrimp and Gruyere cheese. Fill them, wrap them in bacon, and smoke them. Yummm.
Hey, I just noticed that someone took the Hullabaloo canek canek out of my first note. They must have thought it was naughty. Moderator: it's part of the lyrics of the Aggie War Hymn, and not bad.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious
