E2K: Great time, great gig!

I had a gig in early April with my other band (The Resonators). It was a University of Maryland alumni gig, in a historical mansion. We got paid well, fed (it was catered by a great local restaurant) and had an open bar. The bass player in that band said it was "The easiest gig I ever did." As good as that one was, Eggfest 2000 was about 1,000 times better![p]Everyone in the band had a great time, and were very impressed by all of the food, and the Egg itself (they wall want to come over to my house for dinner as much as possible now! I'm going to have to convince them to buys Eggs!). Despite a couple of slight equipment problems, and missing the VFW road (MapQuest's fault!) everything went smoothly. We couldn't have asked for better hospitality! At some gigs the band is ushered into a back room and given a couple of sandwiches. Here it was "Help yourself to anything here!" And you all know what was there - what can I say about the food that hasn't already been said?! This was the kind of gig where you say to yourself "I can't believe they're paying me for this!!!" I think the guys in the band had such a good time they would have done it for free! (but that doesn't mean we will for free if we play there next year!) :-) [p]It was nice to hear Gretl and her husband and son during our breaks. That young man has talent! I hope he keeps it up. Maybe someday you'll be back in the DC area and he can play at the blues jam I run.[p]It was nice to finally meet so many of you, and to sample your wonderful cooking. Thanks for all of the positive comments about the band. We really appreciated playing there. I hope to do it again! Thanks again to James and Dale for putting things together and for having us.[p]-Steve[p]ps - My only complaint is it wasn't long enough. I could seriously see Eggfest being an all day/all night event or a two day event.

    BluesnBBQ,
I agree. I could easily spend 3 or more days with these people, and not tire of them. Needless to say, 3 days of eating egged food would also be heaven. We could be on to something! Eggstock2001!![p]Thanks again for the great tunes...it was a pleasure meeting your bandmates.[p]NB

BluesnBBQ,[p]I agree. Great job with the tunes. How about a Thursday Meet and Greet, then all day affairs Friday and Saturday, then closing ceremonies on Sunday afternoon.[p]OK...now we're into 4 days...maybe we should just go the whole week...[p]Cornfed

    Nature Boy,
EggStock 2001....we'd all gain too much weight to be recognisable afterwards! As much as I'd love to be there, I just couldn't face my scale!
