Camper's Cocoa Mix

I became an egghead in July 2009 with my purchase of an XL. I have been impressed with the cooks that I have accomplished with the help from the members of the forum. Thanks for all your advice and hard work. For my first post, I would like to add a simple recipe to the post I viewed yesterday about hot chocolate. To make camper's cocoa (not sure its low cal) mix the following in a large container: 1 lb 9 oz box of dry milk, 2 lb Nestle Quick, 1 lb powdered sugar, 12 oz of Coffee Mate. Mix 1/3 cup of this mix with 1 cup hot water and sit back and enjoy! Also works great with ice cream to make chocolate malts. This is how we do it in central IL.

Thanks for the recipe and welcome to the forum!

Sort of related to this I guess.......
I have been reading up on Single Pan Desserts for doing a few things in the DO on egg over the holidays. Aside from all the pineapple upside down cakes are "dump cakes". A chocolate one I found uses some of the same ingredients as your recipe above..... -
Thanks danothemano!

Message recieved and noted.

danothemano,
You the man! Your gonna' love this group!
That should all mix up to be a season's worth!
("a lb of this, a lb of that"...)none of this "silly little box with 8 envelopes in it"!
We are into some unseasonably cold weather here in Oregon, (high 20's) and ironically, I've been craving some hot cocoa when I'm out in the barn fiddlin' on stuff.
Thanks!, I've made note of the recipe! -
Thanks for the welcome. Trust me, you will need a large container to store all the mix. It's a very good tasting elixer that is guaranteed to keep your innards warm! Hope it helps you through the winter.

Yeah, speaking of which...about how big are we talking? What do you use to contain it all?
Reason being, I'm headed to the store for pepperoni and cheese pizza fixin's for tonight...thought I'd try your recipe out.
Hmmmm, pizza and cocoa for dinner? It could happen... -
Big Tupperware type container. Otherwise, put it in gallon size ziplock bags (a couple should do fine). Hope you enjoy the rich, creamy hot chocolate.
