captaincraigb,[p]What size egg do you currently have? I think that the large and the small is a great combination...[p]Tonia

captaincraigb, mini is nice if you like to travel, tailgate or camp. However, for a second around the house, I would recommend a small or even a medium. The small is a great addition to a large but until we put more pressure on them to produce it, it has no platesetter which I find extremely valuable. I have a mini (and a large and medium) and use it a lot but I think I would use the small just as much.

    captaincraigb,
I went large then small and then medium. In this home of two the large and small see most all of the action.

    captaincraigb,
I'd also suggest a small. I've got a large and small and probably use them almost equal.
Do wish they had a plate setter for the small but I've adapted a set up for pizza that works.

  • Shelby,Please elaborate on your pizza setup. I have not been able to find a pizza stone that will fit the small.[p]SB
ps I agree with you...a small and a large is the way to go!!

  • QBabe,
we have the large. just wondering if we should get the small or mini. don't really do much tailgating.

captaincraigb,[p]We don't tailgate either, but we take the small camping all the time. We also take it to family gatherings so we can cook egged food - it's too difficult and painful to let the family do it on the gasser or in the oven when we KNOW it can be done better on the egg....! [p]I also just got my husband, Mr. Hyde, a mini for his birthday that he keeps in his truck. When lunchtime rolls around, he just fires it up and has a burger or reheats the weekends ribs, etc. and has a wonderful lunch, fresh off the egg...![p]I don't think you'll go wrong with either, but the small will do a lot more low and slow (ours once went 16 hrs without refueling for an 8 lb pork butt)...[p]Tonia

    Smokey Bob,
A small BGE pizza stone fits perfectly inside. My problem was how to elevate it so I could slide the pie on/off the stone. When I was in Atlanta last summer, I went by the BGE store. They had a small, ceramic deep-dish pizza "stone". I set it on the grill in the small, then set the small pizza stone on top. Works like a charm.

Shelby,[p]We also use the BGE ceramic deep dish pizza "stone" as our indirect mass...works great![p]Tonia
