Big Lots had a snorkel type sealer. It did not have a box, machine only. They charged me 12.00 with no refund option. I jumped on it.

No. the heat strip if far enough in front that it just stays in place. I just tried it with plastic bottles and it worked ok. I just didn't seal it to waste a bag. It is not as nice as the sinbo, but I think it will work fine.

I for one am STILL all ears! How did it go? In helping another egger last night on how to use a Food Saver to seal Drybags I think I have yet another approach, but just didn't have the time to try. You know...for a retired guy I sure am busy!!!

I have to go buy a hunk of meat. The last one I did, I used my other vac and sealed the bag as they say at an angle. I then laid the bag on a reg commercial heat sealer. I socked the air out with the foodsaver tube attachment for cans. Soon as the air was sucked out, I hit the sealer. It worked perfect. I would have done that again, but I borrowed the bar sealer.
