Marinade

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Here's a great marinade:[p]1/2 cup Allegro original (on the condiment isle in the grocery store)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp hot sauce
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp black pepper
2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp Accent seasoning
2 tbsp thyme (4 if fresh)
1 tbsp ground cayenne
1 bunch green onions, chopped[p]Mix and shake very well until it becomes emulsified. Pour over meat in a ziploc bag and press all of the air out to insure all surfaces benefit. Turn every 4-6 hours, do not marinate longer than 24 hours. Great on pork butt or loin, brisket, ribs, whole chicken, or steaks. The vinegar, hot sauce, oil, and spices will tenderize as well as keep things nice and juicy. Enjoy.

  • Chef Wil,
I'm just going to take a shot in the dark but I'm guessing he is a Cajun transplant to the Alpharetta, Georgia area. Sounds to me like he took some of his Cajun cooking skills with him. Alpharetta is a lucky town.[p]Spring (North Louisiana Cajun) Chicken

  • Spring Chicken,[p]Afternoon WIL and Spring Chicken, I'm a transplant too but in the right direction. I'm from Florida and moved here 23 years ago. Met "Mamma Lorraine" Bourgeous, fell in love with her and the food so I decided to stick around. Great place, great people and home of Jake Delhomme! Go Panthers!
  • LAD,
I grew up in Lousiana but lived ten years in Florida (Miami, Daytona & Jacksonville) before moving to Texas. I was searching for a place to buy and raise a herd of Big Green Eggs. Spring Texas USA seemed to be a good place to do it. Got one Egg in a bunch all by itself for now but I've got big plans for more. Life is good and get'n gooder..[p]Spring Chicken
