ABT's for FRC (Future Remote Consumption)

I'm bringing ABT's to the Super Bowl party this year...this will be the first time this group of people will ever have experienced the mystique of the egg, let alone, ABT's. Oh yes, they will come, Ray. ...Not knowing why, but they will come to your doorstep and ask to have a look around. And you'll tell them, "Sure, for $20 a person, look around all you want and have a nice day"...While they look around, you'll sell them ABT's and they'll think they've discovered the waters of eternal youth. They'll look upon it all as a good place to be. Some will even ask, "Is this heaven?"...and you'll reply, "No, this is Iowa." But in your heart, you will know that this is all truly the magic of your ABT's.[p]If anybody is still with me at this point, the Super Bowl party is at a resort 40 miles from where I live, and I'll have to cook the ABT's a day or two ahead of time, and then re-heat them in a microwave "in Iowa." Here's my question: What is the best way to prepare these puppies in advance? My experiments so far, have pretty-well shown that the jalapenos themselves tend to get a bit mushy and the bacon turns to absolute mush if left too long after the cook. The flavors are still great but I would really like to hear the latest thinking on how to best preserve these culinary delights for re-heating a day or two after the fact?

WDAN,[p]I'm skeptical you'll ever get the flavor of a fresh-off-the-grill ABT when trying to reheat. However, if you have access to a toaster oven or perhaps even a regular oven, I think the results would be much better than from a micro wave. JMHO

Pakak,
You've given me good advice before...and you know what? I've been going to this hotel on Super Bowl weekend for the last 15 years. It's high time that I get a tour of their kitchen and access to their facilities! I won't mention the "golf cart incident of '86". Contrary to local lore, nobody actually drowned during the incident itself.

Pakak,
I agree. A regular oven @ about 350° for a few minutes would make a world of difference over a microwave for a few seconds. I've tried the microwave approach and the ABT's were limp and spongy. I also tried some in my toaster oven and they were okay but not great. You would really do yourself a favor by investing in a small or mini BGE to take with you, just in case. [p]Spring Chicken

Spring Chicken,
I predict that ABTs will become the All American hors d'oeuvres of the future. Catering companies should offer them.
