I was doing a high temp seer around 600* on a nice porterhouse to night 90 seconds per side. Closed the vents down to dwell for 3-4 min. I opened top vent to let some heat and gases out. Did a couple of burps and kaboom. Scared the hell out of me. I have had flashback before, but nothing like that. Has anyone had that happen before? Buy the way, the steak was delicious.

Ya gotta love it. Can't get excitement like this on the old Weber. That's why we have a Cool Refreshing Beverage near by. (Left hand) in my case.

These things can be a bit dangerous if you do a high temp cook and theres lots of people around. I always make sure the kids go inside and tell anyone around to leave the dome alone if they want to keep their hair :woohoo: Ive had mine roaring along before and close the daisy and it blow a fireball out the bottom vent.

I have to watch my dogs around the Eggs, they like to hoover while I cook because they think I am cooking their dinner. Every once and a while I get a good flame shooting out the lower vent after I close the vents a bit. That one really hurts and does a great job in removing hair around the knees. :pinch:
