I found a dealer near me that carries WGC. Never tried it before, would like to.... Does $21 for 22# bag seem like a decent price?

It sells for 26 bucks at my dealer.
Ask for a discount on ripped bags.
I pay very little for mine
-
$22 seems a bit high. You live near BWI, correct? I just got a 20# bag of Cowboy lump for $12.99 at Ace Hardware in the Lake Shore shopping center on Mountain Road. Not sure how Wicked compares to Cowboy, but I've had no problem with it.
-
That ain't "Wicked Good" though
Not even in the same ballpark  -
Ripnem, does the benefit outweigh the cost? I'm cheap and typically shop based on price alone. The only two types of lump I have used are Royal Oak and Cowboy. Is it worth trying the Wicked?
-
Wow. Ok, guess 21 isn't so bad then. thanks.
-
Yes, i'm near BWI. Actually 5 mins from arundle mills mall. Where are you at?
I've been using cowboy for a month or so now. It's ok, but i think it gave me some problems on a low n slow. Ran out of charcoal. Other than that, no complaints. Cowboy isn't very dense, seems to burn quick. IMO. I still would use it, it's fairly cheap. I was paying i think $6 for an 8.8 lb bag. Didn't know ace carried 20#, thanks, will check them out. -
Yes it is. The density alone will pay for itself in the long run. I'm a deal hound as well and that's why I get the tore-up bags at a huge discount. .50 per/lb

That's actually less than my dealer pays. We are buying from the same person. :P -
I'm in Pasadena, but I work at BWI. Ace always has the Cowboy, most of the time for $12.99, but I've seen it there for $14.99 also. Must be some kind of semi-permanent sale.
-
Yeah, cheaper isn't always better. Highpress, where are you getting the WGC? I may have to try a bag.
-
your burn times with wicked will be more than twice the cowboy
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
-
Probably a decent retail price for WGC. I think the guys splitting palets on the forum are paying close to $16 for a 22# bag.
-
That $16.00 per bag is based on a pallet being delivered to a business address in Oklahoma. Destinations much nearer the shipping point will enjoy a lower cost per bag because of the lower freight costs.
-
I ordered three bags at 22 lbs a piece and it was around 60 dollars. I am in southern Maryland.
-
I wish I could find WGC in San Diego -
-
Yeah, not ready for a pallet yet. We'll try a few bags first. See how that goes...
I saw on the website it looks like WGC sells it for 13 or something a bag? shipping got to be expensive though... -
Seems high; I bought six 22lb bags at our local agway for 15.99 ea - regular retail price. I prefer WG over cowboy always.
-
That was from the WGC website?
-
I prefer Royal Oak and I am talking Green Wise lump from Publix Food Stores over cowboy. I can't get WG here in Tennessee I don't think. Tim

A pallet shipping to an Atlanta business comes to $15.07 per bag.(22#)
-
Just north of Baltimore:
3-22-WWL Weekend Warrior LUMP (3) 22# Bags @ $13.50 ea. 1 $40.50 $40.50
Shipping: FedEx Home Delivery: $21.60
Sales Tax: $0.00
Total: $62.10
We should try a Baltimore area WG pallet buy. I would stock up at 16 or so a bag. I go through approx 3 bags of wg a month. -
And you local store has to stay in business and earn a living. They are making some money, but not a killing. That was my point.
-
I live in the Philly area and would join in on the pallet and buy 5-6 bags, not sure how many are on a pallet.

I participated in the Oklahoma group buy which worked out very well, thanks RVH! (and a few others who helped organize it). I think it was 60, 22 pound bags to a pallet. When the group buy was organized the allotment was pre-sold within a week."Bacon tastes gooood, pork chops taste gooood." - Vincent Vega, Pulp Fiction

I'm in Newark, Delaware...and I have an Egg friend about 30 mins from here.
Sundazes and YankeeFan...we should talk.
