Has anybody have a recipe for real tandoori chicken?

I really enjoy Indian food and the chicken is really spicy like I like it to be. I learned that they cook this chicken in a clay oven at the Indian restaurants. So I was thinking, why not my egg? its pretty much the same way of cooking. what do you folks think? has any body here tried this?
And I was wondering what makes there clay ovens different from our eggs if there is any.
I know the marinade already, just wondering if I can get it to taste better in the egg? One way to become successful is to follow one before you that has gone down that road, so that being said I am all ears or should that be eyes :)[p] David K

    David K,
I've done some chicken with tandoori paste marinade and it comes out well, just roasting direct on the grill.
The Egg is basically the same concept as the tajeen they use in eastern cookery, although a tandoor oven is somewhat different than that. Maybe take the grill off and purchase some long metal skewers and bank the tandoori marinaded chicken against the Egg walls over a small but intense pile of hot coals in the firebox. That's gotta be approximating things pretty well, I would imagine!
    Anyone else with thoughts/techniques/experiences?
