BB-Q Sauce for chicken
Dock of The Woods
Posts: 46
This recipe was given to me along time ago by a good friend, I have gotten alot of ata-boys with this one.[p]2 C. vinegar
1 C. veg. oil
2 T. mustard
2 T. onion salt
2 T. Worchestershire Sauce
1/2 C. sugar
1/4 C. salt
1 t. pepper[p]Place in a jar and shake well. This is just a basteing sauce, and I always cook the chicken a little on each side before I start basteing. Then I baste everytime I turn the chicken. Watch for flame ups when you baste with this sauce, I close the bottom vent everytime I baste. And use a raised grill. I always add extra pepper and some hot sauce to this recipe also. This a good getaway from the tomato base sauces and it doesn,t hide the flavor of the chicken. Ya'll give is a shot, see what you think![p]Hugh, sitting on the "Dock of The Woods" on a beautiful day in North Georgia!

BluesnBBQ, It probablly would, and I may give that a try. I have been using this recipe for 20 years and never tried it as a marinade. We are going out tonight, but I have not yet planned the BGE menu for tomorrow night![p]Hugh, thinking about BB-Qed chicken on the BGE tomorrow night on the "Dock of The Woods"

Dock of The Woods,
Just past Cartersville, right...I'm in Dalton, but I've sold insurance in about every little town within a hundred miles from here...I really like this part of the country but not as much as I use to...things are prolly changing everywhere I guess. Have a good weekend.

Dock of The Woods,
I'll give it a try. Sounds like the recipe I refer to as Volunteer Fire Dept. sauce. When I was a kid I remember the volunteer FD's would do BBQ chicken fund raisers and they used a basting sauce similar to this that would literally stop traffic it smelled so good![p]Sittin on the Dock of The Computer in Fl.

Chet, You got that right, on both subjects! Atlanta is getting way to close![p]Hugh, leaving the "Dock of The Woods" headed to the Irish Pub
