On other forums I've used, when there's a response to an older thread it kicks it back up to the forefront so that people can see there's been new activity on it. I don't see that here, or am I missing something? It seems that unless I specifically subscribe to a topic I don't see subsequent posts.

I'm using flat view for both the main egghead forum menus and the individual topics when I click on them. An experienced egger talked me through that setup!

  • Try clicking on "last 25" & see if that view does what you are asking.

"Latest" helps, Rusty. It just doesn't tell me if I've read the last posts on that thread, but I guess you can't have everything!

You can select, in your profile, the ordering you prefer in the index (at least for the classing index). Visit "Member -> Edit my profile" and set "Preferred message order" to "Latest post first". That may be what you're looking for.

WMK, that's the way my preferences are set already. The "Latest" option does help, but if I've responded to an older thread it doesn't seem to bring it back up to more current status; you still have to backtrack a page or two to see it. It's just different from the other forums I'm used to. Thanks, though!

My bad, I should have said to select "Active thread first" under "Thread ordering". That should be what you're looking for; or, the closest we have at the moment.

Aha, that looks like that might do it! Thanks again!
