Charbon,[p]You can shape a 12" to 14" pizza on the large Egg with a 16" stone or kiln shelf. Of course if you bake your pizza at 650F or higher you'll be able to pop a pizza out every 6 to 8 minutes, which reduces the need to make large pies.[p]Puj

Charbon,
What I did for pizza on my small...I bought that small deep dish and use it as a sort of plate setter and put a small BGE pizza stone on top...works great!

Puj, Are the square peices parts of a fire brick? If so how does one go about sawing the brick with common tools or just take a sledge hammer to it and live with the odd shapes? [p]
-
Charbon,[p]No, they are kiln posts. You can certainly use a platesetter and stone to accomplish a similar setup.[p]I've had the good fortune to go down to Daven's Ceramic Supply (close to BGE HQ) and stroll through their warehouse for kiln posts, shelves and other ceramic goodies. Go to the linked page for more views of the different setups that I use.

Puj,
Thank you for the pictures of your "set-ups". This sort of information is so helpful to those of us just learning how to use the egg.

Mustang Sally,[p]Glad I can help ... and welcome to the world of the Eggers.[p]Puj

Puj, Thanks, I'm numb from all the holiday roasting on the egg. Can't figure out what the kiln post clothes line set up is for? Even my small egg would burn through the ropes very quickly.
-
Charbon,[p]I use clothes line to store the kiln posts; cheap, easy and effective. There is no cooking purpose at all.[p]Puj
