Another Egg Road Trip

Well, as we're prone to do, we got in the car yesterday and went on another egg road trip...and came home with a brand new small egg to give to my brother-in-law for the last of our Christmas celebrations this evening![p]Started making phone calls yesterday (nothing like waiting until the last minute) and wasn't having much luck. Either they didn't carry the small, or were out of stock, or were charging a fortune for them. After about 2 hours of calling around, I finally found a super price at the Turner Ace Hardware on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville, FL. It was such a good price that I called them back to confirm that it took a 13" grid (at that price, it had to be the mini, I was sure of it), but John, the gentleman I spoke to said, no it was indeed a 13" grid. So we hopped in the car and off we went....[p]Tonight, we're going to wrap up the owner's manuel and give Ken his new egg! He came to our Florida Fest back in October and just drooled over the eggs then, so when we were discussing what to get him, it seemed like such a good idea...[p]Hope he likes it as much as we'll enjoy giving it to him! I just can't wait![p]Happy Eggin' New Year!

singram,[p]We were taking bets on how long it'd be before we heard from you, ha ha! [p]The small egg and nest were $319 before taxes. When we got there, John said that upon reviewing it, he saw that the price has increased by $30 but since that's what he quoted me, that's what we got it for. But, even with the additional $30, it was still much less than anything else I'd come across. The two Pinch-a-Penny Stores here wanted $459.98 (with taxes) and $425.98 (before taxes). But even with the gas, we thought it was still a bargain...[p]They had more small eggs, but we got the display nest 'cause they couldn't find one in the back...[p]Tonia

    QBabe,
    Happy New Year,
I would also like to get on your Xmas list. LOL[p]Would you happen to know if Ace has a catalog number or such??? I tried looking at their internet site under grills and could not find a BGE listed.[p]Regards,

New Bob,[p]I don't think so. If it did, we didn't find one. Not all of them seem to carry eggs. It was the biggest ACE hardware I've ever seen. The ones around here are pretty small and don't carry eggs or lump. We found it in the Dealer Lookup on this site. Just started putting in zip codes of nearby cities until we had a few to call and started going down the list...[p]I don't think I've ever been quite so excited about giving a gift as this one! What a rush![p]Tonia

    QBabe,
Thank you for your reply. I keep waiting to see if my friend from Kissimmee is coming this way, if so, I will have him bring a few things that I cannot get here at a reasonable price.[p]A great weekend to ya,
