fishlessman,
The only ones I have seen are Phillipino. It's labelled as a sweet sausage in the Oriental markets.

the chourico is portuguese and i think you only find that version in the newengland area. no idea what longaniza is but it was there in the store and looked the right size for abts :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

hadnt even thought it would be sweet, might be good. went to buy some chourico and the market had all new brands, hope they arent dropping the brand ive been buying for 20 something years.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Here in the north longaniza is practically non existent, but chorizo is everywhere. Both originally from Spain. Longaniza is similar to chorizo but not so spicy. A good longaniza should include the pork intestine tripe although comercial ones use synthetic casings

that works for me, it looks to have a very small natural casing. our portuguese chourico is spicey but i dont think its as spicey as your chorizo. made some cheese chicken and chourico quesadillas this weekend, maybe some tonight as well with the abt's.

Yes, the chinese sausage is very good in many stir fry dishes. Usually sweet and not very spicy.

Chourico or Chaurice is really common here. Nice big hammy chunks and the red sauce all through it. Just love it.

I'm going to get some good stuff from a Portuguese butcher this week now that you have put me in mind of it. What are those hard crust buns called? Just the sausage on a bun with piri-piri. Need it bad now.
