What do you experienced eggs cook pork chops? I am thinking of chops that are 3/4 inch thick to the size of an Iowa Chop at 1-1&1/14 in thick?

  • Mustang Sally,[p]Pork chops like that are definately a treat! When I can find those I usually sear them like a steak. Light the BGE and let the temp come up with the bottom draft door wide open and the metal top off the chimney. When the temp gauge hits 650 degrees put the chops in. Sear on each side for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes then close the draft door and put the metal top on the BGE and close it too. Leave the chops in the BGE for another 6 to 8 minutes to finish. MAKE SURE you take the metal top off the chimney and open the draft door about 15 seconds before you open the lid to get your chops. Good luck![p]Mike

    Tanya,
I got the meat cutter at Winn Dixie to cut them for me.
