boneless chicken wings?
RRP
Posts: 26,455
I admit I've lead a sheltered life and for the past 9 years since becoming an egger I have seldom gone out to eat. Today I heard an ad for a local restaurant touting their boneless chicken wings. Is that a common offering nowadays? I mean by the time you de-bone wings there's not much left so it would have to drive up the price being labor intensive. Besides if the diner just wants dark chicken meat, why not offer them thighs or thighs cut into strips...but de-boned wings???

:woohoo: You haven't heard of the Boneless Chicken Ranch??? Gary Larson, circa late 1970s - early 1980s.
(I'm pretty sure Thirdeye will come up with the cartoon :P ) -
seeing no replies I decided to look further into it and the ad is Wendy's but further research revealed they really are white meat and nothing more than renaming their previous menu from a few years back called chicken strips then. And lastly it's a marketing gimmick to counter KFC which is having success with a similar offering recently rolled out.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

It's all marketing. Boneless breast meat cut into small bite size pieces marinated batter breaded fried. Served with or tossed in a sauce. They have been around for years, and marketed at most casual theme restaurants. Very BIG business, I know we process millions of pounds.

You're right.... stay home....egg some hot wings, and de-bone them yourself one at a time.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
It's a communist plot to overthrow the government! The FDA has cross bred a species of barnyard fowl that is calcium free, so therefore there are no bones. The cool thing is they are technically "freerange" as they don't need pens or cages cause they don't move around much without bones...
