mad max beyond eggdome, Are those 2" steaks?!! Looks yummy!

  • Tanya,
yes, i buy the whole sirloins at costco, then cut the steaks myself, insuring the big fat honkers you see in the pictures . . .trex them, then thin slice them. .two of them more than feeds my family of four. . .

mad max beyond eggdome,[p]Cool! What does Costco call them and how much per lb. do ya pay?[p]I've got wings marinating in olive oil & Jamaican Firewalk, plus a 5 lb. choice brisket slathered with mustard and covered with a chipotle rub waiting for me to get home.[p]Looks like you guys had a heck of a party![p]Cheers,[p]Ed

  • GrillMeister,
costco calls them 'whole boneless loins', and i think i paid about 5.99 per pound. ..about $55 for the whole thing and it cut into about 7 or 8 of those two inch thick steaks. . .they are 'choice'. . .and there is little to no waste on them, just unpack and cut. . .i also buy whole tenderloins at costco. . .if you go to the dizzypigbbq.com site and look under recipes, you'll see my beef tenderloin recipe, and the first picture shows how i cut up a whole tenderloin. .. man, they are good too. . .and very reasonable, everything considered. . .
