Rustic bread ...
Clay Q
Posts: 4,486
Well I hearth baked in the egg today and I continue to work on this rustic bread that shows promise.
A long fermentation in seasoned stoneware.

Nice and golden brown, good solid crust, this is ready to take into the house. yuuuuuummmmmm, the aroma of fresh air and hearth baked bread is almost intoxicating.

Hey, I think I have a winner here. Light, very moist crumb and a beautiful deep chunchy crust. I'm thinking what a pizza would be like with this dough.......

Ooops forgot the butta shot. First thing I did was slather butta on a still warm slice and ......heaven.

Thanks. Saw a photo like this in a bread book but it just hit me to take one after slicing and showing Diana the bubbles up in the light.
Kinda purdy in a foodie kinda way.

When you get it down to the way you want it, send us the recipe please. Looks really good and we wait for that butta shot.

Will share soon. Gotta get my notes organized and also try another bake to be sure it's ready to share.
Like art, these things take time.

Indeed bread and all baking IMHO is an artform. Take your time but don't wait for perfection. Let us at least sample where we are at this point in time. Update us when perfection is achieved.

Nice looking bread Clay

Clay - How do you season your stoneware? I did one of these tonight (same pan), and had a little sticking problem after pulling it from the Egg.
