why you don\'t change oil with a hangover
everything was going good till I moved the drip pan to the "under the filter" position, then forgot I had dropped the drain plug into the drip pan, neglected to fish it out & put it back on, and as I was standing there pouring in the new oil, I couldn't escape the feeling that something was wrong

Don't despair about your cement - just go to most any auto parts store and buy a bucket of Oil-Dri (it's cheap) which is an oil absorbing compound that will clean up the mess. It actually will draw the oil residue out of the cement in time. Just follow the instructions. I've even cleaned up oil drips that have been staining the floor for years - not perfect of course, but with very satisfactory results.

Was that extra virgin 5w20, or just the regular stuff?
I can laugh because I've never done that before, except once (or maybe twice, can't remember anymore). -
Never done that. I did however change my oil one day and after I swapped the filter and filled her back up with oil I cranked it up. From the driver seat I heard a whistling noise. I thought hmmmmm..... what the hell is that. Then I seen my wife waving like crazy so I cut it off. There was oil all over the freaking place. When I swapped my filter I didn't notice but the old gasket stayed on the block. I screwed the new filter on top of the old gasket. The oil was blowing out from between the new and old gasket. Hence the whistling noise. What a freaking mess!
