Alabama Egger, 4 minutes at 250 will barely get a steak warm. ANd I wonder about Salmon done that quick that low. You might want to experiment with cooking the salmon at a high temp (say 600 or so). Cook the steak on one side for about three-four minutes and then when you flip it, try putting the salmon on. Shut the vents down and I bet both the salmon and steak are done within 3-5 more minutes. I routinely do salmon at 350 indirect for about 10 minutes a side and it comes out great. NatureBoy ought to chime in since I think he has tried every cooking possibility with salmon.

Alabama Egger,[p]I usually cook salmon at 350-400. Smaller filets take about 8-12 minutes. Salmon steaks about the same... depending on how done you like it. Depending on how thick the steak is and how you like it done, you should be able to start one item a few minutes before the other and get them both done at the same time.[p]Did a couple of tri-tips the other day... and while they were resting threw on a small salmon filet (about 1.3 lbs), cooked at 400 for about 8-10 minutes and served it all together.[p]Walter

THanks for the help. I thought 250 was a bit low, and 4 minutes a side too short, but that's what's in the BGE Manual for Ocean Fish.
I've found that all the cooking times are way too short to get things done. I've calibrated my therm., and it's correct. [p]
