So, as posted a few weeks before Christmas I put a call our for a BGE dealer in the Prairie Village, KS area. I got some excellent advice and was able to get a pretty good deal on a small BGE, egg nest and other items. Well, I purchased this small BGE for my step-daughters boyfriend as they were spending the holidays at his parents in Prairie Village. I worked it out with his father to pick the egg up and put it in their shed in the back yard. After all their festivities were completed they called us here in Vermont to talk to my family. Well, I got Nick on the phone as Katy and his parents went outside to get the cameras ready. I asked him to do me one favor.....put on some shoes and go out to the back shed......he was a bit confused but once he opened the door all I hear was "YES!!! Woooo Hooo!!!" Then he turns to his father, who has always wanted a BGE and says "Who's jealous now!!!"[p]I must say, it was the reaction I was hoping for....I believe he was going to do a "dry cook" and just mess around with the dampers, temperature, etc......I did recommend to throw out the cook book and use this forum......life is good![p]Happy New Year to all! No special plans anymore for me this evening.....been laid up with flu like symptoms and figure just hanging low at home and hopefully making a full recovery in time for the Dallas/Carolina game Saturday night!

Toe 49,[p]I'm glad to hear that your stepdaughter's boyfriend enjoyed his gift!! I gave my lil brother a mini for Christmas but a week later, he still has not used it. Bummer.... I'm hoping he will catch the fever in due time. This is typical in my family. I gave my wife a gift she has been asking for since we met as teenagers. A jewelry box. But not just any jewelry box.. A custom handcrafted box made from Cocobolo wood by a renouned craftsman. This particular design is from a piece that sits in the American crafts museum. Absolutely beautiful if I can say so but she still has not put but a few pieces in the thing. Unreal!! Oh well, if you don't mind, I'll just share in your enjoyment. Can't wait to hear of his first cooks!! Mac
