Hey,
What is the story with the jacked-up BGE carrier on that truck at the Eggtoberfest? Is that a commercial product, a prototype, or somebodies (rather impressive) one-off toy?
Thanks,
Don

How do you get on a mailing list?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now).

How does the contraption lower the egg to ground level? The winch seem to only be used to hold the egg down with the winch strap.
-
Here's one my Egg Rep uses for demos.
I have more pics of it from different angles if you'd like.
He had it made. The only thing missing is some wheels. -
I did not look closely when I saw it. That is my question now.

The top strap clearly goes through a pulley on the front of the bottom platform then over the egg and connects to the bottom platform on the opposite side. When you winch up it pulls the whole platform up, when it hits its upper limit then the winch applies strap pressure to the egg. Winching down simply lowers the platform to the ground. When on the ground then the strap loosens on the egg. I could be wrong though. This is the greatest signature EVAR!

I would hate for the winch to let go, at say 70 mph. BGE shrapnel would be a bad thing.

i always wondered if one could do a low and slow set up that way :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I would not be surprised to see it out very soon.....Kevin Jacques

I talked to David King at the fest and he said he had one that actually swings out so if you have a van you can raise the back door. He said he presented to BGE and they were considering it. This is the guy that makes those Zion King tools. He is out of Morristown TN.

copy/paste of the reply i got from bge to my inquiry
Hello Bill,
This is not available yet but we hope to have it ready to go sometime in January 2010. This will be able to be ordered through your local BGE dealer as a special order item.
Thanks,
Bruce
