Turkey Cannon

Does anybody have any experience with the "Turkey Cannon"? I'll be doing the thanksgiving turkey on my new toy this year...
Mainegg's Spatchocked approach looks interesting, and I may go that route. Only had the grill a few days and am still getting familiar with things -- and will probably do a S-P chicken or two in the next couple of weeks to try out the technique.
Thanks,
Don

Never heard of the cannon, but the last couple years I've been separating the front from the back before cooking. This lets me cook the white and dark meats to the exact temp I'm looking for. It just doesn't do much for presentation. I always serve my birds sliced anyway. -RP

The turkey cannon is like a beer can chicken holder. Unfortunately, it has been proven that beer can chicken does not induce any flavor at all. So the same would be true for this cannon. Best to spatchcock or Mad Max your turkey.
