NEW BGE
My buddy bought a BGE and after a few cooks with him started researching BGE's. I had bought lots of grills and smokers of probably every type. I bought a large and after checking out the forum started cooking. 1st 10 lb prime rib -great- 2nd 2-12 lb prime ribs -even better- 3rd nice ribeye steaks -best steak I ever had
4th now cooking 2 turkeys and a ham_for Christmas. I expect great results. All tips and recipes came from this forum. Keep em coming! What a wonderful group of folks. Without a doubt the best grill I have ever had and thats after only 2 weeks of using it. I am now completely converted. By the way I am the largest Ducane gas grill dealer in my state. Thanks Folks !!!!

ACEMAN,[p]Welcome to the BGE cult!! The people here are certainly great. The Egg is also great! You're first few cooks sound great. I look forward to hearing of your continued success cooking on the BGE![p]BTW, where in the country are you (being the largest Ducane dealer. Do/will you carry Eggs)?[p]Smokey

Smokey,
I am in the southeast US on the Gulfcoast. We have been a retail Ducane outlet for years as well as Weber and a few others. I knew there was a better way to cook. The egg sounded strange but seeing and cooking is believing! This thing is great. The forum is great. It is going to be really hard not to stock and sell this product. I believe in selling what I think is best. I feel like an idiot for not trying the egg sooner. Maybe big trouble for our other brands. Happy cooking and Merry Christmas!!!!!!

ACEMAN,
Congratulations on your BGE---Like you, I had bought/or was considering other smokers. I was kind of a novice to say the least and was headed towards a New Braunfels side-box cooker..for about 1/4-1/3 the cost of a Large Egg. Somehow, the voice that spoke to me a long time ago...when I had summer job money burning a hole in my pocket and considering as my first bike a Honda 350...or should I just go ahead and buy the good used Triumph 650 Bonneville--came back to tell me to go with my gut and just "do it"--the best Christmas present I ever gave myself 3years ago! Yesterday smoke/roasted a 20lb. turkey, and am smoking 3 huge racks of Babybacks ala NatureBoy's rub recipe, and going to offer some Sticky Fingers BBQ Sauce (sweet Carolina style)and some John Boy & Billy's Grillin' sauce on the side. The 30+ in-laws and outlaws coming over this evening won't know what hit 'em!
As you've already discovered, stay plugged in on this channel, everyone is/has been great to me & helped me get the hang of damn good Q. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

ACEMAN,
Takes nerve to cook a prime rib roast first. Wish it would have been one of my second or third cooks. Instead I waited like a DA and didn't cook 1 until 4 years then cooked the next 1 a day later. Very good.
Sorry, WELCOME, should have said that first.[p]CWM

Big Murth,
30+ inlaws ? Time to leave the house if it was me -- Just kidding. A good product is just a good product, even if you think it costs a lot. Anything you buy that works and lasts is a sweet deal over time. We used to have a saying when I raced sailboats, It's OK to go the wrong way just do it in a big hurry, and turn around real quick. Still can't believe in all the many years of grilling I just found this BIG GREEN THING. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Aceman, Glad you joined the "Club"... This thing is the greatest invention since the airplane; best thing I ever spent $$$ on... Bakes bread, pizza, smokes, lo & slo cooks or turbo hi- temp sears, it does absolutly ANYTHING!! Soooo efficient! And you can even make your own charcoal on it! You are going to enjoy using it!!

ACEMAN,
Welcomr to the Green Room! Besides the BGE's on my deck sits a lonely Ducane that I use occassionaly. Like the Ducane, the BGE is warranted for life, however the cooking and learning curve is decidely different. I love the Egg, and you'll soon find that the BGE Family is willing to help anyway they can.

ACEMAN, welcome aboard. I certainly hope you become the largest BGE dealer shortly. There really is a difference. Either that or there is something in the ceramic that just makes you think there's a difference. But either way, the BGE is super.
