Hi everyone, I am looking for some sujestions for steak. I am trying to keep the cost down and still have a good cut of meat. I will be cooking for about 12. I have thought about cooking like a roast before cutting into induvidiual steaks. I would love to cook a beef tenderloin but don't want to spend that much. So if any of you great cooks have some ideas I can't wait to here them. I love this forum it has been great reading all the ideas and trying them out. By the way my 16lb Boston Butt I cooked on Saturday turned out great. I ended up cutting it in half and smoking for about 15 hours.
Thanks
DC

    <p />DC,egger,
Top sirloin makes a great steak so long as you don't go much past medium rare, and slice thin against the grain. They are far from melt-in-the-mouth tender like a tenderloin, but they are pretty tender if cooked right, and loaded with beefy flavor. Last summer Costco had USDA Choice top sirloin steaks for $3.59. Might be more now with beef prices outta control, but a great cut for the money.[p]Here is some I did a few years ago.
    Beers....and juicy steaks to you.
