  • That's the way we do it, except for the maple syrup and brown sugar. Just butter and a little salt and pepper.

    Bery Bery good that way.

    Count'n down.

    Morning Kim:

We did a bunch of these for the wedding reception. We didn't use the 1/2 inch water. Just cut side down on the gird (indirect) until soft (about 30 to 40 minutes), then flip over. We put a tablespoon of dark rum, tablespoon of brown sugar and large pat of butter in the middle, back on the egg for another 20 minutes or so to soak up the goodness.

    Have a GREAT day!

The water pan will give them a head start, but you can cook them without it too. I know these are acorn squash, but you get the idea..... A real hip way for serving winter squash is to cook a sweet potato at the same time you do the squash, then season it and serve it inside the squash. It's a wonderful combination.

We did a small one that we grew ourselves.

We cut it in half and cored it then stuffed with chopped apples, Hickory nuts, Blueberries, brown sugar and a little Cinnamon. We wrapped each half in foil and cooked with a Spatchcock Chicken @ 400 degs. We pulled when soft to the squeeze. Took almost as long as the chicken.

    Morning Kim:

Yeah, the alcohol goes away and just the flavor is left behind! My 8-year old & 4-year old granddaughters ate them and loved 'em.

Plus you're only talking a tablespoon of rum.

    Have a GREAT day!

I just cut the squash in half, clean out the seeds, make a little protective bowl of foil, add S&P plus butter and brown sugar and let them cook, on a raised grate.

My new fav for squash is to cut in half brush with coconut oil and season with a good coat of DP Pineapple head. Cook skin down like the other picks.
