Tonight was steak night! We usually do fillets, buy the whole tenderloin at Costco, cut into steaks about 1 1/4" thick and food save ...

Egg: Small
Temp: 550 (4 min one side, 3 min second side) for Med Rare
Meat: Fillets
Rub: Home made coffee rub.
Sides: Sautéed shrooms. Spinach salad (candied pecans, feta cheese, green onion, raspberry/balsamic vinaigrette). THAT IS NOT MASHED POTATOES ... instead it is cauliflower ... Steamed then mashed with blue cheese, green onion and truffle oil. At first I was concerned ... but after trying it months ago it is a staple for us!

Steaks on!

Ready to eat ... even the egg marks were good tonight!

That's a fresh idea for the cauli. I like it roasted then mashed. Great cook!!

Beautiful dinner!! I've done the mashed cauliflower before and it's great but with the blue cheese and truffle oil, I bet it's fantastic. I'll have to try that.
  • Talked about roasting it ... going to try that next time ... I think that would make it even better!

That is one nice looking plate. The greens look especially good. Ever boiled colaflower in crawfish seasoning? I used to not like colaflower but wife will boil me some up now just to eat!
  • Good tip ... I never liked the old fashion flower w/melted cheese ... but I'm discovering all kinds of ways that I like it ... I'll try it with the seasoning.

Great looking meal! Tried cauliflower only once - HATED IT!! Maybe the cheese would help...LOVE that stuff!

    Gotta get some square plates!!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
