Broken Plate Setter

My plate setter was dropped and broke. I've ordered another one but it will be at least a week before it arrives. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use in the mean time to get the same effect of indirect heat?

A pizza stone would work. How broken is the platesetter, could it be repaired with JB weld.

fire brick splits work well, buy a half dozen at your local masonry store for cheap.

My vote is for the pizza stone if platesetter can't be temporary fixed if you have one. If not the 1/2 fire bricks would be cheaper that's what I use to raise grid on direct heat cooks
