Today at Lowe's I found this Butterball Brand meat injector for a mere 10 bucks. That compares to the one I've been using from Bed Bath and Beyond which also was 10 bucks.

But here's the real comparison:

The Butterball is all stainless and the only plastic are two gasket seals. OTOH look at the amount of plastic in the other. The other thing I've always disliked about the BB&B one are the needles are straight tubes and cut a core of meat when inserted that is then spit out and looks like a worm! The Butterball is a true needle with a pointed end and slots on the side.

BTW this wasn't even a sale price at Lowe's!

You are THE go-to guy for gadgets! The wire meatloaf basket is already on it's way to me.

Off to Lowe's on my way to the gym. I'm going to try injecting a tri-tip waiting in the refrigerator. Always up for an experiment!

The new one is ever bit as good of quality as this unwieldy monster I bought but returned to Cabela that was $35 as I recall.

  • Ran right out and bought one of those bad boy toys. Sure beats the plastic ones I have used. Very heavy and built right.
