  • Marc,

If you do have a few extra seeds, my 83 yr old father LOVES to grow peppers of all sorts. He especially loves to grow something nobody else has - a little 'ego' issue.

I also have two colleagues who think nobody can find any peppers hot enough for them. Sounds like this would be right up their alley !

I will send you an email with my mailing address if you could send a few seeds. He grows them in his green house before transplanting in the spring.

    Thanks....
  • i was not but if mike does not find a tacker i might if i can get out of the office
  • i can send your dad adp [arkansas death pepper] for seed [carribean red]
also i have two naga jalokia plants and 1 adp that are small and will survive 2-3 day shipping you are welcome to them . will send priority mail my treat .. they will not survive my winter .. be advised marc and Jl are serious pepperheads ,, i almost killed them with the chocolate covered adp's last year, if marc cannot do a naga i would caution your father to grow but not eat,

    bill,

I am not stoopid enough to try it. I have a pretty large collection of hot sauce and I would proudly display it. If Marc can't take it I ain't tryin. Do you live close enough to pick something up from him? You could even give him my bottle to bring to Atlanta. Maybe he couldn't get on the plane with it..even worse it might spill in his luggage  all over his underpants

OK I fryed catfish, french frys and hushpuppies in DP's tonight BUT I did use the Egg to keep it all warm as I was cook'en. Anyway I got a nice fire in the Egg chemenia, (ahaem) several Amber Bocks and an OM down me and wife is making a Sazrac. There is a full moon, every star in the universe is shinning and its 55 degrees. I'm heading to the Shack but I happen to see a emergancy email bill sent me about this post. All I can say is I am very dissapointed in you Zip. Prehaps you and bill can go to Publix tomorrow and get some nice Jellepenos peppers to munch on togeather. Carefull of the red ones!!!  :silly: I have been happley munching on ADP's from a small plant bill sent me after all mine died for 2 days now. My Elephant pepper now has a couple small bombs growing and is safely in the shed tonight all nice and warm. You have shown your weekness Zippy. Soon I will exploit it to your shame on the whole forum. I have been getting emails for 3 days now from bill whining about the ATP sause and now you. I am just descusted and I need a drink!!
  • Whew. Sounds like the Amber Bocks, the OM and Sarzac are working !

Holy Toledo man, what where you thinking? I submit you're lucky you're not in a hospital. WOW!

    from Wikipeddia:
    RE: naga jolokia
In 2000, scientists at India's Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) reported a rating of 855,000 units on the Scoville scale,[3] and in 2004 an Indian company obtained a rating of 1,041,427 units through HPLC analysis.[6] This makes it almost twice as hot as the Red Savina pepper, Guinness World Record holder at that time. For comparison, Tabasco red pepper sauce rates at 2,500-5,000, and pure capsaicin (the chemical responsible for the pungency of pepper plants) rates at 15,000,000–16,000,000 Scoville units.

I have been exposed, & it is shameful  , I couldn't get the entire pepper down, but that sob was foul I tell you, foul. I'm not even so sure it was the heat as much as the combination of heat & the flavor, the best word I can use is repulsive, simply without a redeeming quality that made it acceptable to finish; but please, by all means, chomp on one & let me know what you think, maybe I got a hold of one gone bad. The two that I cooked & ate tasted great by comparison, so these guys will not go to waste, they just won't come near me raw
