Chicken Pot Pie

Morning All:
For the throwdown Kathy made a couple of extra corn meal crusts so today we used the ones that were butter based (the one for the throwdown was Crisco based) to make a chicken pot pie.
For the filling we used a couple of the chicken breasts from yesterday, along with a can of VegAll and about 2/3 jar of Alfredo Sauce. Seasoned it with a couple tbsp of DP Shaking the Tree. Here is the filled shell waiting for the top crust...

Of course had to make sure anyone would be aware it was done on a BGE...

Set up was adjustable rig with the pizza stone on the mid level, grid on the top level, the broken medium platesetter on the grid, three Egg feet and then one of the 8.5 inch pizza stones. Trying to get as high in the dome as I can...

Dome temp was about 380 to 400 for most of the cook. After about 10 minutes I put foil around the edges as they were getting a little brown. Here is the finished pie...

Didn't get a good pic on a plate, but here are a couple after we'd eaten some...

and a close-up...

EggHatter had a little bit of leftover crust so she rolled it out, put some butter and sprinkled some Little Ceasar's Zesty Garlic Pepper on, then sliced into strips and rolled up. After the pie came off I put these on to bake...

a nice, tasty appetizer, with some of the heated Alfredo Sauce for dipping them in...

This one is another "do over"!

Jay, that chicken pot pie looks fantastic!! I need to take a class from Kathy on making pie crusts. I love the egg she put on the top. Those little appetizer rolls with the leftover pie crust are a great idea.

Morning Anne:
Haven't heard from you for a few days...glad you're back! How you feeling?
Any time Kathy makes a pie crust we use the little bit of left overs for that type of thing. With regular pie crust we usually have butter and cinnamin/sugar mixture...very sweet for desert.Have a GREAT day!

Thanks! Probably should have used just a little less Alfredo, but still turned out pretty good. The corn meal crust worked real well.Have a GREAT day!

Morning Steve:
My "artistic" skills are very limited (actually Kathy made the "Egg" decoration, so I'll pick on her -- NOT).
Looks like y'all had a great time at the Canadian EggFest yesterday!Have a GREAT day!

Morning Mike:
Thanks! The "appetizers" were very good. Like I told reelgem...whenever Kathy makes a pie (whatever kind of crust) we make what we call "pie crispin's". With regular pie crust we use butter with a cinnamin/sugar mixture sprinkled on them. Baked until flaky and makes a great desert.Have a GREAT day!
