Dumb Thanksgiving Idea

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Sooo... DawgFan and I thought it would be cool to offer smoked turkey breasts to our family's coworkers for Thanksgiving. The response was great. We had 27 orders. We had a large and a medium egg so we figured 5 turkey breast per run, 6 runs, 12 hours. Unfortunately we didn't think about the time it took to clean the birds and prepare them to go on the egg. After 16 hours of cooking and cleaning (all night), we finally finished. What a day. Maybe we'll laugh about it someday. Incidentally, we had very positive feedback from our customers.[p]

  • The details I forgot:
The low was 25º that night.
We started at 5PM and finished cooking at 9AM.
We set off the smoke alarm in the house twice.[p]I'm surprised my wife didn't want a divorce after all that!

RamblinWreck, I guess I would have just opted to buy the boneless turkey breasts and forget about the hard work! I guess you wound up with a lot of legs, wings and thighs left over though. Should be soem good eating there as well.
