Good morning,
I just joined the forum a few minutes ago and already have a question. I have been looking for recipes for dutch oven cooking. Has anyone ever used one on their egg?
Thanks,
BJ -
sear a chuck roast on grill, put in dutch oven with beef broth, water onions, leave top off, cook at 350 for three hrs or until tender. put potatoes, carrots and anything else you want in the last hr or so. enjoy. best pot roast around go to search forum on top of page and type in what you want, great responses. also go to recipes section on rt. great dishes.

Hi outragous,
Yes, if the branches are dried out even better. Pecan is one of the most popular smoke woods there is. Similar to hickory but maybe just a little milder and sweeter pecan is good stuff. Like any smoke wood it should be dried.
Thirdeye hyas a page on woods here:

Welcome to the neighborhood. I just cooked a pork stew the other dayin mine. I position the plate setter legs up and set my DO on it. The temp adjustments on an Egg take a while, so don't get it too hot to start off. It's easier to take it up a few degrees than to bring it down.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
Pecan is my favorite.I got 21 slabs cookin rite now and am using pecan.

Pecan wood is one of my favorite as well. I use it on all my butts and ribs. Every now and then I fall back on hickory but always come back to pecan.
