to all the members of the egghead "tribe" out there. ..a happy healthy new year starting tonight at sunset!!. ...just started my egged "jewish" brisket. .. onto the egg to smoke for one hour, then into a pan of wine for another hour open on the egg. ....then sealed up with the onion soup mix, pearl onions and carrots for a couple of more hours. .... wife made a kougle, gonna egg up a spaghetti squash. .. .mom and dad are coming for dinner and bringing the challah, sweet wine and (yuck) honey cake. ..also got the apples and honey and i just got back from buying some rugalach at the bakery. ...think i have all my bases covered!!.. .

nah, gifelta fish is a passover tradition, not a new year's tradition (at least not in my house). .. we will do the apples and honey (as part of bringing in a 'sweet' new year)

LOL. .. i can see that. .. actually, i love the stuff. .. ice cold with a good schmear of red horseradish on it and a hard boiled egg on the side... i could really eat it anytime. .. i had one aunt that used to make it from scratch, but unfortunately that recipe died with her. .. now its just the stuff from the manajewitz jar (but thats still good!!). ..

no, she is up at school. .. and with the holiday falling over the weekend, they aren't taking any days off, even at a school like hofstra (lots of jews there on the "GI-land") ... if i know her, she'll probably be eating an italian hogie for dinner tonight!! more important for her to save her travel dollars for eggtoberfest anyway
