gee, no 'early' birds, no broken lids, so far everything is right on. . ..thanks though to Nature Boy for loaning me his large with his neat little water tray. . .i original tried to see if my turkey roasting pan would fit on a grid over an inverted plate setter, but it wouldn't. . . so i'm using chris's set up which consists of two iron bars that suspend from the fire ring, and hold a pie plate full of water. . .grid then sits in normal position and my turkey roaster fits beautifully right on it. . .so far, i've been cookin right along at 325 for the last four hours. .. with the water in the tray, and all the stuff i put in the bird (2 sticks of butter, 1/2 bottle of wine, 2 cut up apples). . .the bird is lookin righteous. . .i haven't even had to 'tent' it yet, as with all the moisture, the skin is taking its time to brown. . .just finished sauteing up my celery/onions/chestnuts/apples for the stuffing which will go in egg number 2 along with the sweet potatoes i whipped up last night and then the apple pie. . .finally, i'll set up the mashed taters just before dinner. . . got the fire going in the fireplace.. .watchin a little football (whoever decided jessica simpson and mary blige were good halftime entertainment???). . .its a beautiful fall day here in virginia. .. .[p]happy t-day to all of you. ..i'll let you know how it turns out later if i can hoist myself to the computer. .
