Green Eggs and Spam
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
Sea Island grills a lemon pepper shrimp with some type of cracker crumbs and I think clarified butter.

Has anyone had these shrimp there before? I am trying to recreate these amazing shrimp they grill.

Does anyone know what is in the recipe???

  • Perhaps it's the grilled version of this:

    3 tablespoon cilantro chopped
    9 tablespoon lime juice
    1 cup tomato juice

    Sounds good anyway.

  • This recipe sounds good... but not the one

The shrimp recipe I am referencing is several medium size shrimp on a scewer. The shrimp have a clarified butter and some sort of a dry cracker crumb or kind of corn meal. It is not a batter it is more of a dusting and then some lemon pepper.

Do you have a recipe for this? :P
  • No. I just did a Google search thinking I might run up on someone who successfully tried to duplicate it. I wasn't sure how they were cooked.

Maybe Lawn Ranger has eaten there before and knows more about their menu items and maybe even how they cook them.

    Good luck.

  • Gotta Love Sea Island!
I grilled some shrimp tonite that were the best Ive ever had. I peeled and skewered them, covered with EVOO and used Bad Byrons Jubilee seafood seasoning, grilled over coals. WOW!
  • Did you ever get the recipe for the sea island shrimp house shrimp on a skewer? I was stationed out there and used to love it but when I left and asked for the recipe they wouldn't give it to me.
