egg band repair

need help. first post so don't laugh. I have had an large egg for about 5 yrs. Just put on my second gasket due to air leakage. I notice that the bottom band is above the surface of the egg in the rear. I loosened the nut on the band and repositioned but did not help much. Put the new gasket on and noticed some help. Could I have possibly bent the spring hinge somehow along the way thus forcing the bottom band upwards? Anybody with a fix of how to adjust or just buy another assembly? tks, gdog
