My wife will be out of town for another 10 days, and I am just getting warmed up cooking stuff I don't do when she is home. Sunday was a "Rib End Pork Loin", which I could not pass up in the meat case. Only done a few loins, but I figured I'd give it a try. Cut the thing in half and rubbed the small half with a mild rub for the kids, and took the larger half and used a firewalk kinda spicy rub, and gave it a partial bacon wrap. Direct at 275-300, maybe an hour or a bit less, not sure....was watching football! Grilled some tater slices on another egg.[p]A nice little treat and a welcome change of pace around here. [p]Hope yall out in the central time zone are not too wet....looks like it is headed east.
Cheers!
Chris

Hey Chris...Picked up a buy one get one free Boston Butt at the store last night and am going to try your suggestions this weekend. I will let you know how it turns out. My parents are coming into town and my dad has not had Southern Style BBQ in a while, hopefully he will enjoy. Not much rain yet here, predicted by noon though. Got the egg tucked away as they are expecting 70+ mph winds.....fun.[p]-Kevin

    MickeyT,
'Preciate the kind words Mick. Definitely having a bunch of fun in between the chores and work. The taters taste awesome. A little crunch on the outside, and great flavor. I just drenched em pretty good in olive oil and shook ragin river on 'em. Threw em on a flat fish type grid over a 350 fire and cooked 'em til they was brown and done. By far my favorite way of doin' taters.....and real easy. Just leave the skn on, clean and sllce, oil and rub and you're in bidness. I rub side one, put on cooker rub down, then shake rub on the taters' backsides on the grill. The rub that falls onto the fire even smells good!
    Have fun!

ryan h,
Check my response to MickeyT's post (link below). I am also going to add the tater recipe to the Dizzy Pig site very soon. Been doing them this way for a couple years, and it is my favorite way to cook spuds. Easy peasy too.[p]Beers!
