Successful Brisket with BGE & Stoker!

I have pretty good luck making a brisket on a gas grill, but I decided to get a BGE a few months ago. I have cooked burgers, kabobs, pizza all with great success. Far better than with Gas. But when I tried to slow cook a brisket I failed totally!

I made two mistakes with that first brisket... I started with the fire too hot and could not cool it down, then I left it on the grill way too long. Disaster.

I tried a 2nd brisket I tried to control the tempature better, but still did not do as well as with my gas grill.

So I got my stoker and used it from the start... Set the stoker to 225 degrees when I started the fire and left it in control the entire time. After the temp stabilized I put the brisket on and turned it just a few times. Wow... It was amazing.

The Stoker kept the temp right on the money. One of the best briskets I have ever made.

As a side note... I tried the latest software from kaytat software with the latest stokerlog (version 5) and while the stoker kept running, twitter and stokerlog was not working well.

I move back to version 221 of the stoker software and stokerlog version 4 and it ran for 6 hours with no trouble.
