I am in the middle of smoking a turkey
thinks seem to be hummin along pretty good
dome is at 350
grate is at 300
internal temp was at 165 but started to fall
cant say that I understand whats up with that
the bird is on a verticle turkey rack
settin in a drip pan on top of an inverted platesetter
temp fell from 165 to 161 in about a half hour
stayed like that for about another half hour and is now starting to rise again
Is that common???
thanks again

    Glenn,
What temp are you shooting for? I always pull my turkey when it hits 165 breast. That assures a nice moist bird. IMHO going much higher and it dries out and gets tough. BTW be sure to let it rest at room temp with a piece of foil tented over it for 30 to 45 minutes before carving.
