Anyone heard of the Grill Dome ceramic grill/smoker???

Hello all,[p]I am certainly not trying to instigate any 'forum chaos', and the forum gods may delete this post if they wish, but I searched the forum archives, and was unable to come up with any info on the kamado-style Grill Dome cooker.[p]The only reason I ask is that a friend of mine was contemplating (that would translate to "justifying the purchase with the wifey") a BGE purchase when he heard of the Grill Dome. It appears to be less expensive than the BGE, but I was wanting to give him some real data to go on from some folks that might know of, or had experience with, the Grill Dome. And, of course, I thought of the experts here at the bge.com forum.[p]Thanks in advance.

Thrill,[p] They have a web site so I suggest you check there (do a search for it). Since BGE pays for this forum, and since the rules say not to compare products here, I don't think you'll get much of a response. Not trying to be difficult mind you, just trying to play nice. I will say one thing -- Grill Dome is fairly agressive on their website forum in deprecating the BGE . . .[p]MikeO

Thrill,[p]I will only report a few facts (to avoid upsetting the forum G-ds)! I believe Grill dome is an Atlanta based company. I have been in there store (quite small) and met the owner (an Indian gentleman). There were no other employees in the store. I can say I LOVE my Eggs (I have two) and love the people here![p]Smokey

Holy Cow. Just perused their site since I had never heard of it. They are a little hostile! How odd. I've never even heard of their product. I don't see any useful recipes, pleasant banter, or the like. I'll stick to my egg and the eggfolk. What would I be without y'all, except maybe a little thinner :-O
