Wanting a quick cook, so that called for the mini and a Tuna Melt.
I used the Mini Woo. 350° 3 to 4 minutes per side. 1 Wheat and 2 White Bread. A can of tuna, mayonnaise and some grated white & yellow cheese. Lump loaded to just above air holes in fire box and a few chips of apple wood.
Great eats

Kent,
I'll bet that was one of the best tuna melts you've ever eaten.

I showed this one to the better half and she said to put it at the top of the BGE to be tried list. Great looking eats GG.

That last shot tuna melt almost poked me in the eye ha ha.
Nice, now I'm droolin. Gota try that... thinking with my little cast iron pan in the mini and butta the outside of the bread and let fry a bit on both sides until cheese melts.....drool. -
First off, thanks for the comments. Now for some combined replies...
Don't wait for a mini to cook these. Using normal size sandwich bread I could only cook 2 at a time. Next time I will use the medium or large (I like 2 and the wife 1).
I thought about buttering the outside but I was using the grid it didn't matter.
On a skillet would be good too, but I have to say toasted was great.
After taking the pictures we went into eat. The results were extremely good. Good enough that no more in the house Tuna sandwiches.
These were just simple mayo and tuna with cheese. One could go a lot fancier with the tuna if they wanted. A little chopped celery and light onion and maybe a couple for grapes cut up.
I have also done cheese and tomato toasted cheese the same way and that was fantastic.
I want to do a chicien salad grilled sandwich, that too would be good with a little heat and toasted bread.
What ever egg size you use and grid height you use you will need to test the cook time for that set up.
If you look at the white bread sandwiches you will see one side of the egg was hotter than the other. I had a better burn on the left side of the lump in the mini. Rotating the grate during the cook would alleviate that problem. I think a larger egg with a little more distance form the lump to the cook level would also be more forgiving.
Don't put off trying this cook, it is easy, quick and the results are excellent. Great lunch, snack or light dinner.
Sometimes the easy cooks are just as tasty as the harder cooks.
Hope you give it a try, GG -
