That's what I hear. That doesn't sound too bad for their first attempt.

The good doctor is correct!!! Thanks for the plug, Ray! The EGGomaniacs finished 13th overall out of 44 teams in Shelby!! We even made it to the stage. We tied for fifth and lost the tiebreaker netting us a ribbon and a sixth place finish in pork. Not bad for our first competition! It's been a long two days and I'm wiped. I'll post some pics tomorrow![p]Frosty Ones,
Jim

JSlot,[p] Jim, great showing for the teams first kick at the cat. Would have loved to be there to learn a few things & help out where i could. If you plan to come close to the border let me know & i will join you fellows. Where will the next one be?[p]Earl

JSlot,[p]Good job Jim! I know all about that "wiped" feeling after experiencing my first cookoff in Temple. Only 3 hours of sleep in my Tahoe somewhere between 2 & 5 AM.[p]I'm looking forward to the pics![p]Sleep well![p]Ed

We'd love to have you on the team for a weekend, Earl!! I'm not sure how far north we're gonna go until we look at the schedule for next year. There's a slim chance we may be heading to Plant City, Florida for the Pig Jam there on November 21. Still up in the air right now.[p]Jim

Thanks, Ed!

I'll be on that cloud for awhile, Chris. You know the feeling!! Thanks for all your help![p]Jim

Congrats Jim ... and to the Eggomaniacs.[p]Puj

Yep, I know the feeling and I want more. Glad I could provide a few tips, but you fellers did you some serious cooking. BTW, what is up with the green tinted photos? Was that part of your deal with Big Green Egg? ~~~
Chris
-
Green tinted photos? Hmmm, other than the Eggs and the tent, I don't see a whole lotta green, Chris. What are you seeing that I don't?[p]Jim
-
JSlot,
I can see the green cast in all the pictures, but look at the presentation pictures that you posted. Does your table look like the tan that it is, or does it look a bit green??? [p]Perhaps some of it has to do with the way my 'puter is displaying it. Color display on computers is really a tough issue, but your photos appear way greener to this trained eye. Wonder if you might have had your camera set on incandescent lighting when it should have been set on daylight??[p]Anyway, I took your chicken photo and copied it down and adjusted a little. Do you see a difference? Your original is on top.[p]If mine looks pink, and yours looks normal, then I need to do some more investigating! Anyone else see green??[p]Beers dude.

I forgot the link!
Here ya go.

I see what you mean, Chris. I believe the green tint is coming from the sun shining through the green tarp on the tent. The tables are actually white. I'm hungry now!!![p]Frosty Ones,
Jim
-
JSlot,
That makes sense. Does you camera have a manual white point setting?? If you set your white point against a white piece of paper in the same green light, the camera will adjust the color to compensate for the green cast caused by the canopy. Green light is not the best light for photographing food![p]I'm hungry too dude. 80 degrees and sunny here in virginny.
Cheers
Chris
