Well, the first cook on the BGE was a success. We had a spatch cocked Tandoori chicken served with Naan bread. All was delicious.[p]Thanks to Mr. Hyde and qbabe for bringing my egg back from Atlanta.

singram, that was one heck of a first cook. You sure you never done this stuff before? :-)
-
And yes... my wife does think i'm insane for taking pictures of our dinner. But, she's put up with me for 20 something years so I don't think this will send her off.... and she did seem to enjoy the results.

singram,
Wow - I'm impressed Steve. To clarify, this was the first cook on your own egg. If memory serves me correct, you cooked the Lamb at the Q-fest a few weeks ago on a medium egg.[p]Banker John

singram,[p]could you post the recipe please?

Banker John,[p]Your absolutely right. I meant the first cook on my egg... of course thats not true either since qbabe and Mr. Hyde cooked on it all weekend in Atlanta before bringing it to me [p]Oh well, it was the first cook on my egg on my deck and it was good.[p]Steve

singram,
My wife thinks I'm nuts too. She also doesn't want to wait for me to take a photo before we dig in. But you should see the looks I get when I take pictures of charcoal that I dump onto the driveway for the reviews at the lump database!![p]TNW

singram,[p]I'm about to be a new egg user- it should be delivered any day now. What's that thing in your picture that looks like a pizza stone with legs?
-
That is a plate setter and it is used for indirect cooks. It can be placed on the fire ring with legs up and the main cooking grid resting on the legs. You can put a drip pan in between the legs to catch any juices.[p]Jim

singram,
I'm laughing and laughing. Sometime, please post pics of your newly browned interior of the egg on your deck. We all love pics.[p]I wish I had a camera to post pics of my new table. At some point, you will want one. I think Larry is considering making one.?!. You may ask and make a weekend project out of it.[p]Talk to you soon. In your wife's honor, I did try Lamb again on Sunday at a Greek restaurant in St Petersburg. Sad to say, it must not have been prepared correct. I still have not had lamb I like. I think I missed my opportunity with your lamb from the Q-Fest.[p]Banker John
