Saving Pictures from the Forum

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
I am having trouble saving pictures from the forum.
The only saving choices it seems to give me are either "Art" or "Bitmap BMP"
I cannot open them after they are saved.
I would like to save in "JPEG" format.
Any suggestions?

KL,[p]You can save them ONLY in the format they are already in. You can't save a jpg as a gif without a converting program. [p]9999.9% of all pictures here on these forums are .jpg (some will call it a jpeg image but it will save it with a .jpg extention). With either Netscape or Explorer you need only right click on the picture itself. You will see a choice of "Save Image As..". Select that and it will automatically show you the image file name and file extention (.jpg or .gif normally, you can rename it but leave the extention alone. Make sure your drop down menu below the file name is set to save with the same extention (.jpg, .bmp, .gif, etc) and select a directory location to save it to on your hard drive. I have long ago made a directory called c:/A for saving such things because it will always be the top directory on the diectory tree and I don't have to wonder where I saved it to, you can always move it later. That is all there is to it unless you have a Mac or something else that I am not familiar with.[p]Tim
