Prime rib

Duane in SW Missouri,I would never cook prime rib based on time alone. Sear the outside after rubbing with olive oil and seasoning, cook indirect at 350 until internal is 130-135. Temp will continue to rise 5-10* so adjust to liking. Let us know how it turns out for you!

Duane in SW Missouri,
You'll want to cook indirect using at least a foil lined pan but better is to use a couple fire bricks under the pan. Shoot for 500-520 dome. Plan on 15 to 20 min per pound.
145 internal temp for rare.
150 for med rare
160 gives you med
175 is well done
BTW where are you in SW Mo? I haled from Centralia, Mo and went to college in Warrensburg.
