Happy B Day To Me

Big George's BBQ

My wife said she planned to get me a BGE for my B Day as it is a Big one. Figured that I was not getting any younger so I went and got it a few weeks early- a new Large BGE. I think that I would rather use a compact table then a nest esp if I want to try to use it in Comps. Does anyone have a link to build one of these. I am not real handy but would like to look at it to see what it looks like. Also I have heard that the first few cooks should be low temp to break in the gasket/adhesive. Is 350 for burgers considered low. What type of wood do you use-chips or chunks and where do you get it. Thanks I am sure that I will have several more questions

Welcome to the forum and get ready for some good cookin'.
If you're like me and can't measure twice and cut once you may get some good table ideas from this URL:
http://taprootgrills.com
I mention them as I had a custom table made by them and I'm very satified with the product (no association what so ever).
Keep asking questions there are a no. of terrifically good resources here on the forum and they'll help you ramp up your expertise. BTW, learn how to post pics in your posts else you'll be ask again, again and again for food pics  It's adictive behavor but fun.
Good luck and happy birthday (soon). -
There are so many experts on this forum that I will leave the advice to them. As a relative newbie myself I just wanted to wish you a very, happy birthday. Your wife will realize she gave herself a gift when she starts eating all the great cooks you are going to do!

Welcome and to answer your question, 350 is fine for burgers. Make sure you have a tight gasket seal all the way around. Check by using a dollar bill, it should be hard to pull out using your thumb and little finger.
