For all you tailgaters out there that bring your BGE's... what do you do with the hot lump and the hot Egg after the tailgate is over and you are at the game? Lock it up somehow? Put it back in the car?
Thanks.

    gonzobean,
The Denver fans stick it under the gas tank. JUST A JOKE!
I take my mini out and are usually done eating and cooking around 11. I let the little guy cool down and then extinguish what is left with water. Load it up in the back of my truck and go to the game.
Knock on wood, I have never had a grill stolen from me at Arrowhead.[p]CWM

    gonzobean,
The one time I have taken my new small to Athens for a UGA game, I cooked until about 2:30 for a 3:30 game and then locked the small to a bike rack with a bike lock. It was completely cool by the time I came back from the game.

    gonzobean,
I bring my small egg to tailgate. When I'm done cooking, I use a small shovel and tongs to take out the coals. It will cool faster that way. After a bit, I remove the "innards". After a little while, it will cool enough to handle with oven mitts. I always bring one of those thick stepping stones you can get at Lowes. I put the stepping stone on the floor in the back of my van and then put the egg on it and put the "innards" back in. Close the door and go to your game. When it's over your egg is room temp and you can secure it however you want to get home.

  • Car Wash Mike,[p]I left my mini between my truck and another truck during the DONKEY game. I am glad we won, otherwise, I was worried that it might not be there when I came out. I think I'm going to get a cable lock next game so I don't worry about it during the game.[p]Go Chiefs
