I thought I would post again just encase someone had missed this.
or their scroller was not working..... simple ingredients and easy cook. I am at work, short handed, just me and mom and I am cooking lunch for today's class... so If I can do this anyone else can!! :)not hard things to find and cook. we will get more challenging as this goes along. I hope this can be a once a month thing at least. the whole idea here is to get out of our boxes and try something new. the lucky part is the judges do not have to taste it!!

OK this is copied and pasted from Bacchus' post the other night, he came up with a great idea and I hope everyone gives it a try!:
Rules
• Must use Big Green Egg (only 1, any size). No other heat source permitted for any ingredient.
• No accessories allowed except your favorite set of tongs, meat thermometer, & aluminum foil. (No Guru, plate setter, etc)
• All Ingredients (including mystery) must be plated as a single dish(entree, appetizer, or dessert)
• Mystery Ingredient & mystery spice/herb must play a prominent role in the dish.
• Must be prepared July 24th - 25th
• Submission should include two pictures, one of the food on the egg with current major Newspaper in view. The second plated. Please submit by 11:30PM July 25th. New thread will be provided at approx 2:00pm for submissions and those who wish to “vote” on their favorite.
• Winner announced 7:00 – 9:00pm Sunday 26th
Must include the following:
1. Mystery Ingredient: Chicken thighs
2. Mystery Aromatic: basil, fresh or dried
3. a squash of some type
so what ever you fix must be all egged and have these three items as the mains.
I thought we should keep this simple to start. I hope some new eggers join in and give this a try. we are all on an even field here you can stuff or debone and what ever your heart desires! I know that some where in this world it is not raining 24/7 and gardens are giving fresh herbs and such LOL not here in Maine.... so the gloves are off and lets hit the recipe books and google!

First question:
Can the basil, fresh or dried
and a squash of some type be used as a garnish?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd. -
Mickey I am pretty sure the basil has to be included in the dish, not just a garnish.

3 Large, 1 Small, 1 well-used Mini -
Faith I would use it all around by BBQ thigh to look good. Could make a stand out of the squash. Thoughts?

any way you want to go on the basil and the squash is to be eaten not just look pretty LOL it can be a side or mixed with the chicken. the main gist of this is no extra tools on the egg, pretend you just got it and have only the basics :)use the three ingredients and show pics of the raws, cooking and plated :)you can add anything else you want, you don't have to use just those three things
but they have to be there someplace -

Max you are probably going to become addicted to squash! LOL Neil makes the best dish when our yellow squash are in heavy. take the smaller ones and slice thin, add to a big cast iron skillet with lots of butter and garlic. cook till it is getting golden brown and add lots of grated parm and cook till hot and caramelized a nice baked tater and thick steak.... some good stuff!! you want to heap the pan up as it cooks down to nothing if you don't and you will be sorry!

Does a pickle slice garnish count?. It comes from zucchini right?
